This 1300 word synthesis essay/ paper is basically for me to submit to an online learning platform to gain credits. Ive passed all other requirements and the essay is the only pending one. Thanks and below is the background followed by the instructions that i have been given. Ive put in as much details of the requirement as possible. if any questions, please feel free to ask.
BACKGROUND:
The 2 art forms/works i have chosen to write about are The Luxor temple (ancient Egypt) and comparing and contrasting it with The Parthenon (ancient Greece) as they were covered in my study.com Art 103 (Western art 1) course. this is to be covered from an Art, Architecture and History perspective. But with more focus on the Art aspect without getting too detailed. The main point is to find the similarities and differences between the 2 civilizations in their expression of their sculptures, building architectures, their purpose and their overall beliefs. For the SOURCES, please use online sources (primary and/or secondary) because if i were to write this myself i personally wouldn’t have the time to use physical books, libraries etc as a source, at this point of time.
Also, I have uploaded a rough publish of what i wrote earlier just for a writing style guide and basic guide/ reference on the features i covered. although i realized my structure was completely off. Feel free to cover any more facts and art features you see fit. I personally used a lot of .org and .edu websites but thats all i had time for. Also for a 1300 pg. essay I do not know how many citations and sources would normally be required. I’m assuming at least 30 or more citations and maybe 15 sources but i will leave that to you to follow the norms. Notes and Bibliography style was what i was asked to follow. Also, if you need to have sub heads in the body please feel free.
INSTRUCTIONS:
For this assignment, you must select two works (Luxor temple and Parthenon) from different periods and cultures across the course. Your must include a cohesive and defendable thesis that compares and contrasts each work. Additionally, you must consider the following questions as you develop your essay:
Description: In your essay, you must describe each work to your reader (assuming they’ve never seen these objects before), specifically noting the formal features (color, shape, texture, scale etc) that make it unique.
Era: To what culture and/or time period is this work associated? How do we know this? If we discovered this work for the first time and didn’t already know its origin, what clues can we take from the work that would help us connect it to this era?
Style: How would we describe this work of art? How was it made? Use the terminology covered in this course (from study.com, basic art terminology) to accurately discuss the technical materials and methods used in the work’s creation.
Message/Meaning: Why was this work created? How did it function? What was it to communicate to the viewer? What aspect of culture and history was it responding to at the time of its creation?
Comparison/Contrast: By looking at these two works together, what concluding observation can we make? Do they showcase the change of art over time, and/or do they illustrate the continuity of traditions? What is the significance of their similarities and differences, and what renders both of these works valuable as tested by time? In either case, provide evidence to support your claim.
Make sure your writing has a clear introduction, body, and conclusion and is united around a central thesis statement.
FORMATTING & SOURCES
Please write your paper in the Chicago Manual of Style (CMoS) format, as this is the widely accepted citation style of the field. As part of your research, you may refer to the course material (study.com Art 103) for supporting evidence, but you must also use at least three credible, outside sources and cite them using CMoS format as well. Please include a mix of both primary and secondary sources, with at least one source from a scholarly peer-reviewed journal. If you use any Study.com lessons as sources, please also cite them in CMoS (including the lesson title and instructor’s name).
Primary sources are first-hand accounts such as interviews, advertisements, speeches, company documents, statements, and press releases published by the company in question.
Secondary sources come from peer-reviewed scholarly journals, such as the Journal of Management. You may use like JSTOR, Google Scholar, and Social Science Research Network to find articles from these journals. Secondary sources may also come from reputable websites with .gov, .edu, or .org in the domain. (Wikipedia is not a reputable source, though the sources listed in Wikipedia articles may be acceptable.)
NOTE: this website link reference is what i was given . hope this helps.

Create an Eco Art: World Beach Project (60 points) The World Beach Project, initiated by artist Sue Lawty, was a global art project open to anybody, anywhere, of any age. Building on the experience many of us have of making patterns on beaches and shorelines, this project combines the simplicity of making patterns with stones with the complexities of shape, size, color, tone, composition, similarity and difference. To complete this assignment, you need to find a local beach (ocean, river, lake, creek, etc.), create an eco-artwork on the beach using stone only, take few before and after photos, and type your report (250± words). Please include the following information: (1) Date and Time, (2) Location, (3) Creative Process/Inspiration, (4) few before and after pictures of your artwork, and (5) a short reflection about the experience. It is optional; however, you are encouraged to take a short video of your artwork onsite. To clarify, (1) DO NOT shape or sculpt sand, soil or shingle; (2) DO NOT draw in the sand, and (3) DO NOT add driftwood, shells, seaweed, or any flotsam and jetsam that is not a stone. The essence of the project is to create the patterns reflect the geology of the place more than man’s impact on it. Follow the link for more information and several past entries are available for browsing: http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/videos/s/video-sue-lawty-world-beach-project/

How does it fit and relate to the culture and time when it was created?

Chapter 16 – 17: Pierre Augustus Renoir’s “La Moulin de la Galette” with Henri De Toulouse Lautrec “At the Moulin Rouge”
While comparing and contrasting these are things to consider to help create a critical analysis:
Subject, Composition, Content (What is the artist trying to communicate?)
How does it fit and relate to the culture and time when it was created?
Materials, Methods, Processes used in production.
What do you appreciate? What don’t you appreciate?
Elements of art; how the artist uses Space, Line, Shape, Form, Value, Color, Texture
Principles of Design; how the artist organizes the elements using Movement, Contrast, Variety, Emphasis, Rhythm, Pattern, Balance, Unity

Give an example or two to support what you mean.

Throughout history, people have questioned the importance of the arts and humanities, what the purpose of art is, and if its even worth preserving, let alone studying.
For this writing assignment, I would like you to write two strong, college-level paragraphs of 10-12 sentences where you discuss what what you think and feel the purpose of art really is. Is it for self-expression? Revealing values about our culture or society? Give an example or two to support what you mean.
Remember, there are no wrong answers here; only the potential for unsupported ideas. Take your time and think about this and weigh what you think about what you have read and watched in this class so far.
Take care not to stray from the question that I’ve asked you here – there are many “rabbit holes” that you could explore, but we want to stay focused on this concept for now. 🙂
Once you have proofread for clarity and typos, please submit your response in the text box below.
