1. Read through the semi-fictional scenario.
2. Using your creative license, one that gives you some flexibility within the parameters of the scenario, write a properly formatted, well-organized, and grammatically correct negative news letter in a Word document; to be clear, given that the scenario below is oriented around bad news, make sure that your letter uses indirect structure (see our resources for a refresher if need be). Also, make sure that your letter includes but is not limited to features like the following:
a. Block letter formatting
b. Letterhead and/or outside/return address
d. Insides address
f. Subject line
g. Complimentary close
h. Signature image or simulated signature
3. As you are composing your letter, please consider a number of considerations and tactics we have discussed to date (e.g., audience, style, tone, formality, “you” view, etc.,)
4. Save your letter as a .doc or .docx file with both your first and last name and submit it to the appropriate FOL submission folder.
